I did a little backtracking to Out of Darkness where Sabine first revealed how troubled she is by secrecy and being expected to follow orders blindly. It makes a lot more sense now ;)
I doubt a Force wielder of Bendu's caliber would use a lightsaber - the Father, Daughter and Son didn't use any either. They are the next level - mastery of the Force so great that it goes beyond using weapons (the Force itself being the greatest weapon and armor of all).
Flashbacks would be nice. The series began with Ezra meeting and joining the crew. WOuld be nice to see how the others joined as well. And also - who started the whole thing. Was it Hera or Kanan?
Indeed it does; it's always interesting how going back to old episodes can give you a different perspective after you've seen the newer stuff. I doubt Bendu would use a lightsaber either, I just thought the idea of one in his size would be absurdly funny-kind of like if Snoke turns out to be as large as his hologram indicates and wields a lightsaber. I'd honestly forgot about "the Family," if that's the best term for them; the whole Mortis thing was one of many Clone Wars arcs I have no real interest in, and the only other material to even reference them was that whole Legends plotline where you found out about "the Mother", from what I know of the subject. I think Bendu is a much more interesting and sensible character-while not exactly original, the "ancient Force wielder who's been living out in the middle of nowhere" seems a lot more plausible than "three random beings who actually embody the aspects of the Force." Some flashbacks would be nice, and it would be interesting to see the infamous Sloane; I have yet to pick up A New Dawn.
The Grand Inquisitor was definitely a gem-cultured and intellectual and yet savage and cruel. While it was sad to see him go, it was probably a good thing he left when he did; if he had stuck around for much longer it would have been hard to take him seriously as a villain. I mean, the guy is supposed to be the best Jedi hunter the Empire has on call after Vader, who is of course on a whole different level, and yet he can't catch one half-trained Padawan and his student? I think the main reason Five and Seven lasted as long as they did was that there were two of them-and later three when Eight showed up for a bit-and they always ended up in a situation where the Rebels couldn't finish the fight with them. Also, can I say how sad it is that the Eighth Brother is supposed to have died after falling maybe a hundred feet or so (I don't know, I'm a bad judge of distance) whereas Maul and Windu survived falls from indescribably absurd heights?
I think the Inquisitors as a whole have suffered from a lack of development-they have literally been there to give Kanan (and Ezra as his skills have developed) something of a challenge to their abilities. I would love to see more of their history as an organization or individuals: whether they were all traitorous Jedi or if some had different origins, how each ended up in their particular slot in the hierarchy, and of course where those we haven't seen on screen or read about got off to. We honestly know very little about them, and it'd be kind of nice to get some more information after or even before Maul's expected downfall. Speaking of which, anyone else wondered if the fact that Maul's new lightsaber resembles an Inquisitor's isn't an accident, as in he might have taken it from another Inquisitor who was assigned to hunt him down before the Eighth Brother got the job? It'd be interesting to find out...kind of like it'd be nice to know about Ezra's new saber.
